The Miami Dolphins desperately needed to address the cornerback position with less than two weeks remaining until the start of the regular season. The team did not feel comfortable with Storm Duck as the No. 1 cornerback and the relatively young and inexperienced depth behind him. The Dolphins have been interested in bringing in an experienced veteran for a while to offer stability and leadership.
Highlighting one of the few players the front office expressed interest in is a former division rival.

As previously discussed on Gridiron Heroics, the Dolphins have expressed interest in former Buffalo Bills star Rasul Douglas and have been in contact with him since April. He remains a free agent because of a disagreement over contract value, along with interest from other teams. Considered one of the top available corners, Douglas has also received interest and even visited with the Seattle Seahawks in May with hopes of joining a playoff contender.

According to Ian Rapoport, after months of interest, the Dolphins have finally signed Rasul Douglas to a contract. The deal is for one year and is worth $3 million. Douglas is expected to serve as the team’s No. 1 cornerback, providing the Dolphins with a solid replacement for Jalen Ramsey.
