The Czech star will initially come to Wolves on loan for a fee of just over £6 million, with an option to buy of £20 million.

He clarifies that Wolves will pay this amount, and Krejci has agreed to a five-year deal.

Loan, or semi-loan, or whatever the case, Wolves don’t pay £26 million for a bench player.

Krejci is a versatile defender who has plenty of experience playing in midfield. His preferred position is centre-back, but those midfield attributes could really elevate Wolves’ build-up from the back.

None of Wolves’ centre-backs have covered themselves in glory this season. And Krejci has an easy path to his first start, with Toti Gomes suspended for the Everton game.

We likely get our first glimpse of the 26-year-old as soon as this weekend.
