Manchester City goalkeeper Ederson has been loosely linked with Flamengo in recent days, as fans on social media speculated about a possible return to Brazil.
Thechatter gained momentum as the Rio de Janeiro side continued to be associated with several goalkeepers, despite Agustín Rossi’s current status as the club’s number one.
Reports in Brazil suggested that Flamengo’s board might be monitoring the market for another option between the posts. After the club made a series of signings from Europe this year, Ederson’s name quickly turned into one of the most talked-about topics among supporters online.
However, journalistJorge Nicola has been quick to dismiss the idea. Speaking on his channel, he said there is “no chance” of the Manchester City goalkeeper moving to Flamengo.
According to Nicola, Ederson’s intention is to continue in England rather than consider a return to Brazil or go to any other country at this stage of his career.
With the goalkeeper still under contract at City and settled in the Premier League, the prospect of him heading to the Maracanã appears to be nothing more than fan speculation for now.
However, these comments from Brazil are surprising given Ederson’s agents have reportedly been in negotiations with Galatasaray for over a month.
