West Ham’s squad is in drastic need of being overhauled this summer.
Following Graham Potter’s side’s dreadful start to the new Premier League campaign, it is clear that West Ham need to make more new signings before the transfer window closes next Monday.
Multiple players like Guido Rodriguez evidently do not have a future at the London Stadium, and selling them would make sense to free up funds to reinvest in the squad.
However, although West Ham need to sell Rodriguez, their low asking price will leave supporters questioning David Sullivan and the rest of the club’s hierarchy yet again.

Although Rodriguez had a disappointing first season in East London after arriving on a free transfer, Martin Allen felt West Ham could recoup around £10million for the 31-year-old when speaking exclusively to West Ham Zone.

However, according to Guillem Balague on X on August 26, West Ham could be in line to receive far less than that for the Argentinian international.
According to Balague, Espanyol are interested in bringing Rodriguez back to La Liga, with West Ham reportedly placing a £4.3million price tag on the midfielder.

The midfielder has five seasons of Spanish top-flight experience under his belt
Despite that comically low asking price, Espanyol do not intend to pay that amount for the midfielder.
Why West Ham can’t negotiate higher fee for Guido Rodriguez
Despite enduring a disappointing spell in East London, receiving just over £4million for someone who has 30 international caps to his name would be a poor piece of business.
West Ham may have themselves to blame, however, when it comes to being forced to accept a lower offer, with Rodriguez earning £75,000 per week according to Capology.
This may be a factor in why they are willing to accept such a minimal amount of cash for their midfielder, as selling Rodriguez would ensure they do not have to pay him the £7.8million he would be owed across the final two years remaining on his contract.
It is unlikely that any other club would offer the 31-year-old this type of money, and to get Rodriguez off the books, the Hammers may have to just cut their losses.
