Knicks named landing spot for free agent sharpshooter

The New York Knicks have had a great offseason following their Eastern Conference Finals loss.

They retained all of their core from a deep postseason run last year, and even added more depth to the bench with a scoring guard in Jordan Clarkson and a versatile big man in Guerschon Yabusele. However, they still have one more open roster spot, and there's one free agent out there who could be the cherry on top of their otherwise complete roster.

Free agent guard Malik Beasley was cleared of a federal gambling investigation last week that put his free agency on hold. He's now free to sign with any team he would like, and Bleacher Report recently released an article naming the best possible landing spot for his services.

Knicks Named as Landing Spot for Malik Beasley

----------------------------------------------

The Knicks were named as one of those potential destinations for Beasley, and they could certainly use a three-point specialist to round out their roster.

"...in lineups with offensive superstars Jalen Brunson and Karl-Anthony Towns, defenses would have a difficult time checking that duo and keeping track of Beasley moving off the ball." Wrote BR's Andy Bailey.

"Last season, New York was 24th in the league in total threes made. So, the interest in Beasley is pretty easy to understand."

With the Detroit Pistons last season, Beasley had a career year, shooting 41.6% from long range and making 319 triples, second-most in the league behind Anthony Edwards. As a lethal shooter, he fits in with just about any lineup the Knicks could run throughout the 2025-26 season.

As Bailey mentioned, three-point shooting was an issue for New York last season, and Beasley would be the perfect remedy.

While the Knicks are only able to offer the minimum salary to Beasley, to stay under the dreaded second apron, it's not far-fetched for him to take a one-year prove-it deal with a contender to prove his value and cash in again next Summer.
