Player’s camp sitting on fence despite Nottingham Forest rejection – Carrot still being dangled

José Ángel Carmona’s entourage are insisting that a move to Nottingham Forest is not entirely off the cards at this moment in time.

That’s according to ABC, who report that the defender’s representatives have not completely ruled out the Nottingham Forest move yet.

Nuno Espirito Santo’s side had pushed for a deal for the Sevilla defender over the last week and struck a deal with Spanish side, who were happy to receive an unexpected income from the sale.

The 23-year-old put the brakes on the transfer, though, with reports in Spain explaining that he was not keen to leave his boyhood club and move to England at this moment in time.

Reports since have suggested that Nottingham Forest have turned their attention elsewhere, believing any deal for Carmona to not be possible.

ABC say otherwise. They report that while Carmona isn’t overly enthused about the change of scenery now, his decision is not final.

His entourage have insisted to the newspaper that they aren’t ruling out a change of heart in the coming days. For now, they do insist that his intention is to stay in Seville, but that can change.

That ambiguity hasn’t gone down well at Sevilla or Nottingham Forest, who would prefer clear intentions either way at this late stage of the summer window.
