Heading into the final week of the transfer window, Aston Villa have work to do.
The Villans have started this season slowly, and they want a few more bodies through the door before the window closes.
Villa have been linked with Nicolas Jackson in recent times, but with just days to go in the window, it may not be easy to get such a deal done.
Speaking on the London is Blue Podcast, Matt Law has been discussing Chelsea’s plans at the end of the summer and what the future may hold for Raheem Sterling.
Interestingly, Law said he has a sneaking suspicion that Raheem Sterling could end up being a target for Villa towards the end of the summer.

Raheem Sterling could emerge as an Aston Villa target
Law spoke about Sterling’s situation as we tick towards the end of the summer.
The journalist says the forward’s options may be more limited than last year, but he thinks Villa could go in for Sterling due to the fact they’re currently in talks for Nicolas Jackson.
“Like I said, there’s loads of clubs after attackers and wingers and number 10s. And while one of the really big boys isn’t going to come for Sterling like Arsenal did last year, someone who hasn’t quite got what they were batting for, you know, I’ve just got a sneaky feeling that Villa could have a look at Sterling if they can’t get Jackson. Because Villa are crying out for a winger, and they’ll be panicking because of the first two results.
“And they’re obviously in talks with Chelsea about what Chelsea have and don’t have. So if in the last 48 hours of the window Villa haven’t got a winger or an attacker, it wouldn’t massively surprise me if they asked about Sterling.”
Raheem Sterling’s record vs Aston Villa
Raheem Sterling has been one of the most prolific players in the Premier League over the past decade or so.
Indeed, throughout spells at Liverpool, Man City and Chelsea, Sterling has scored tons of goals at this level.
In fact, Sterling has scored 123 league goals against a whole manner of different opposition, but, interestingly, his record against Aston Villa over the years isn’t great.

Games 19
Goals 3
Assists 5
Sterling has just three times against Villa in his career, and only one of those goals came at Villa Park, so that certainly isn’t a happy hunting ground for the forward.
Sterling was heavily criticised last season after his poor form for Arsenal.
However, with Villa looking to make some late additions and Sterling looking for a move, perhaps this deal could be logical.
Marcus Rashford got back into the England squad after a move to Aston Villa on loan last season, and perhaps Sterling could do the same here.
