Bulls linked to sharpshooter in late free agency splash

The Chicago Bulls are a team constantly in flux.

And that hasn't changed this offseason. With the restricted free agency saga of Josh Giddey still ongoing, the Bulls have yet to make any major moves. But that could change with the recent availability of one free agent sharpshooter.

Free agent guard Malik Beasley had his free agency put on pause after it was reported he was the subject of a federal gambling investigation. He has since been cleared and is now set to sign with any team he pleases.

Bulls Named as Landing Spot for Malik Beasley

Bleacher Report's Andy Bailey recently released an article naming landing spots throughout the NBA for Beasley, and the Bulls were tabbed as a team that could outbid his former team, the Detroit Pistons, for his services.

"Josh Giddey remains unsigned, but when (or if) that situation is resolved, Chicago should be more interested in developing his chemistry with slightly younger guards like Coby White, Kevin Huerter and Ayo Dosunmu." Beasley's 41% three-point shooting is a fit for nearly every team in basketball. But in Chicago, he could find himself a serious role on team not necessarily set up for contention. While he may not do a lot of winning, he could stockpile some gaudy numbers on a Bulls team in desperate need of offensive production.

If Chicago can get the Giddey situation ironed out, he would fit alongside Beasley nicely. Giving a willing passer an elite spot-up shooter to play with could create nightmares for opposing defenses.

If the Bulls want to take a step forward this season and crack the postseason for the first time since the 2021-22 season, adding a three-point marksman to the mix wouldn't be a bad place to start.
