£3.46M deal agreed as Leeds United star makes shock departure

Leeds United boss Daniel Farke made his plans known very early in the summer. With the team going into the Premier League, he had a fair idea of the players who would make it into his plans.

So from the start of the transfer window some players knew their future. Others who were in limbo also knew their place when the squad for the pre-season camp in Germany was announced. Farke made very big calls, as he left Patrick Bamford out of his plans for the upcoming season. And when Mateo Joseph refused to show up in camp after asking for a transfer, he was also quickly sidelined.

Early in the transfer window, the club made it clear that the former U21 trio of Sam Greenwood, Joe Gelhardt and Darko Gyabi had to find new clubs. Leeds hoped they could make some profit off the trio. But fast forward to August, and Gelhardt is the only one to have secured a move away.

Fabrizio Romano has now confirmed that Sam Greenwood is set to leave Elland Road. He will join Polish side Pogon on a permanent transfer for a fee said to be around £3.46million.

Who else is set to leave this week?

Leeds are working on two departures as of Tuesday. Over the weekend, Spanish side Valencia opened talks with the Whites over a loan deal for winger Largie Ramazani. Details are set to be finalized as the La Liga side want him in time for their game on Friday.

The Telegraph also reported that Werder Bremen are negotiating a permanent deal for Isaac Schmidt now that Leeds have found a replacement for him, in James Justin.
