Leeds United get Psr boost as Daniel Farke's squad trimmed with player sale

Leeds United are set to get a small boost to their accounts to aid with the Profit and Sustainability Rules after agreeing to sell Sam Greenwood. Signed from Arsenal four years ago for £1.5m, Leeds are understood to be getting just shy of £3.5m for the player.

Fabrizio Romano reports an agreement has been reached with Polish side Pogon, with Greenwood signing a three-year deal with an option of a fourth year. The deal would represent good business for Leeds in releasing a player who was not in Daniel Farke's plans for the season.

In truth, Greenwood has not been part of Leeds' plans since Farke arrived, having been sent on loan to Middlesbrough and Preston North End. A move to either for the money Leeds wanted was not an option, while another loan deal served no real purpose for either party.

The deal helps reduce the wage bill and bring in a profit boost, all of which helps Leeds' position with balancing the books for further recruitment.

The attacking midfielder made a good impact in the Championship while on loan, but it never worked out at Leeds, with Greenwood making more appearances for either loan club than h did for the Whites in his five seasons on the books at Elland Road. The 23-year-old will now hope he can kick-start his career in Poland.
