The Tennessee Titans have until Tuesday at 3 PM CST to reduce their roster from 90 players to finalize the initial 53-man roster. Last year, the NFL updated a rule allowing teams to place up to two players on injured reserve at the roster cutdown deadline with a designation to return later in the season. The old rule required teams to place players on injured reserve the day after roster cuts.
Many Titans fans have been closely monitoring the health of their No. 2 running back.

According to Adam Schefter, the Titans have placed Tyjae Spears on injured reserve as he continues to recover from a high-ankle sprain and was still spotted wearing a walking boot over the weekend. He will miss at least the first four weeks of the regular season, depending on how his ankle feels. The earliest Spears can suit up is Week 5, when the team faces off against the Arizona Cardinals.
