Everton are reportedly only considering loaning striker Youssef Chermiti to a team where he is guaranteed game time amid reported interest from Rangers.

Russell Martin and sporting director Kevin Thelwell are ramping up their search for more firepower with Hamza Igamane increasingly likely to leave the club after missing training before the Champions League play-off second leg with Club Brugge.

Cyriel Dessers is also attracting interest from across Europe with the clock ticking down on the transfer window.

Rangers are exploring a deal for Girona striker Bojan Miovski just 12 months on from his £6million exit from Aberdeen - with the North Macedonia international understood to only be considering a permanent departure from the La Liga outfit.

And Chermiti has emerged as a target with Thelwell understood to be keen on the man he brought to Everton from £11m from Sporting back in 2023.

However, the Liverpool Echo report that that Premier League side are set to put down some firm rules to suitors who want to get a deal over the line.

It is claimed that The Toffees will consider where the 21-year-old old can secure "valuable first team minutes that have proved elusive at Everton to date."

And former Everton and Rangers defender Michael Ball reckons that the EFL Cup clash with Mansfield Town will give the attacker his final chance to impress boss David Moyes - before he makes a decision on loaning him out.

He said: "It is an important match because this is one last chance for some squad players to prove their worth ahead of the end of the transfer window.

"For the likes of Youssef Chermiti, Nathan Patterson - if he is available - and Harrison Armstrong this is a chance to state their case for inclusion within David Moyes’ plans for the season.

"I suspect Everton will be open to allowing some players to leave but the squad is short and anyone who can make an impression may be of value to the manager - particularly in some of the more problematic areas."
