Manchester United could offload one of their highest-earning stars in the remaining days of the transfer window, according to reports - with the Red Devils seeing £200,000-a-week goalkeeper Andre Onana surprisingly end up on the shortlist of West Ham United, who are having issues in their defensive department already this season.
The report by United In Focus states that the goalkeeping area is one position that the Red Devils are looking closely at - and having seen manager Ruben Amorim choose Altay Bayindir over Onana, his exit is expected in the remaining days of the transfer window.
Report: Man Utd Star Onana 'Holds Talks' With West Ham
Andre Onana in action for Manchester United
Senne Lammens is one name who has been linked with the Red Devils this summer as United aim to strengthen their goalkeeping contingent, and the Belgian was left out of Royal Antwerp's squad over the weekend ahead of his potential switch to the Theatre of Dreams.
And that has seen intermediaries hold 'active talks' with a number of clubs over a loan deal for Onana, with West Ham being one of the clubs to seek out a loan deal for the Cameroonian's services.
The Hammers have already signed Leicester City goalkeeper Mads Hermansen in recent weeks, but he's had a horror start to life in east London, having been bullied by Chelsea and Sunderland in their opening two games, and that has potentially forced manager Graham Potter into action with just six days of the window remaining for him to call the changes.
Onana's position has also changed over the past week. Whilst he wasn't called up to face Arsenal and understood the reasoning, his exclusion from the squad to face Fulham is thought to have shocked him and a number of teammates.
Onana is actively considering his options, and is ready to leave the club alongside Alejandro Garnacho, given how United are progressing for Lammens - and the Belgian could come in to become the first-choice goalkeeper under Amorim.
The Onana came through Barcelona's ranks at the age of 14, before leaving for Ajax at the age of 19 - and it was there that he made a name for himself in the Eredivisie. 214 appearances for the Dutch outfit, including a Champions League final, saw him move to Inter Milan as one of the best goalkeepers on the continent in 2022, making another final in Europe's big competition - though another loss saw him move to United, where he has largely faltered over the past two years.
