Report: Arsenal now eyeing 'world-class' forward, he's already moved to London after transfer…

Arsenal are now eyeing a potential late swoop to sign Atalanta winger Ademola Lookman after he handed in a formal transfer request, according to CaughtOffside.

The Gunners have had a very busy summer transfer window so far, spending in excess of £250m to add all of Kepa Arrizabalaga, Martin Zubimendi, Christian Norgaard, Noni Madueke, Cristhian Mosquera, Viktor Gyokeres and Eberechi Eze to Mikel Arteta's squad.

But with the window now in the final week, there is potential that Arsenal could look to bring in yet another attacker after it emerged Lookman has absolutely no intention of being reintegrated back into the Atalanta squad.

Nigeria international Lookman, who has been described as 'world-class', is looking to leave the Serie A club this summer after a major fallout with the club hierarchy, but a move to Inter Milan collapsed due to Atalanta's demands.

There had been hope in Bergamo that should a deal not materialise then he could be reintegrated into the squad for the 2025/26 season until January at least, however, CaughtOffside say that is not a possibility.

In fact, Lookman has not only handed in a formal transfer request to club chiefs, but he has solidified the fact he has no intention of returning by already relocating back to London. Atalanta are open to selling Lookman, but they want around £45m and to sign a replacement first.

However, their current first option is Fulham striker Rodrigo Muniz, and with the Cottagers proving to be difficult negotiators as they want to hold on to the Brazilian, a deal has stalled.

Arsenal are closely monitoring the situation currently and are considering making an approach to bring the former Fulham and Everton winger to the Emirates, despite having recently completed a deal to sign Eze from Crystal Palace.

Bukayo Saka's hamstring injury has seen him ruled out for around four weeks while Arsenal are still waiting on news about how bad Kai Havertz's knee injury is after he got hurt before the 5-0 win over Leeds.

Leandro Trossard has already agreed a new contract so he is unlikely to move on, while there has been interest in Gabriel Martinelli this summer but the Gunners haven't been entertaining talks about him moving on.
