Kevin Durant Has A Message For Thunder Fans

If the NBA was attempting to stir up drama with their Opening Night schedule, they succeeded.

The reigning champion Oklahoma City Thunder will raise their first banner to the rafters on October 21, just minutes before they battle the Houston Rockets.

Kevin Durant will be there because he will be preparing to play his first game for the Rockets, facing off against the team he played for years ago.

On social media, one fan said that it would have been nice if Durant had won a title for the Thunder back at the start of his career.

As expected, Durant had a comeback ready for that remark.

“Don’t be greedy bro. It all worked out for the best. I think most of you Oklahomans will move on after Oct 21st. I can’t wait,” Durant replied.

It is sure to be an emotional night, for several reasons.

This will be Durant’s first chance to show Houston fans what he can do for the team.

Since his days of playing with the Golden State Warriors, Durant has moved around the league, attempting to find a squad that he can lead to another championship.

It didn’t work out with the Brooklyn Nets, and his time with the Phoenix Suns was a mess.

Durant and his millions of followers are hoping this will be the team that brings him his third ring.

But being in that arena with the fans who used to cheer for him will be complicated.

Durant and the OKC faithful have a weird relationship now, with some people still upset about him leaving the team for the Warriors, and Durant not too happy about the pushback and response he got.

There could be boos, cheers, or a mix of both as Durant takes to the court in October.

No matter what happens, Opening Night will be one to remember.
