Browns urged to make questionable Aaron Rodgers move to replace Dillon Gabriel and others

The Cleveland Browns have three quarterbacks on their roster, but none of them are perfect. It remains uncertain what the Browns might do outside of starting Joe Flacco, but some believe that Shedeur Sanders or former Oregon standout Dillon Gabriel aren’t the answer in the long term.

For Gabriel, there might be an argument that he has the best long-term future.

Because of how old Flacco is, it either comes down to him or Sanders.

Would the Browns go for Aaron Rodgers?

However, Justin Carter of FanSided went another route, writing that they should bring in Aaron Rodgers next season because he'd be the best quarterback on the roster. This was prior to the Browns trading Kenny Pickett on Monday night to the Las Vegas Raiders.

“Look, this would be objectively hilarious, right? The Browns have four quarterbacks on the current roster, but there's no guarantee any of them is the 2026 starter for the team. Joe Flacco is at the doorstep of retirement. Kenny Pickett is Kenny Pickett. Dillon Gabriel and Shedeur Sanders are both rookies taken outside of the first two rounds, so neither should be counted on at this point to be the future for the franchise,” [he wrote](https://fansided.com/nfl/4-teams-aaron-rodgers-could-bring-his-bad-vibes-to-in-2026).

“Why not keep the bad vibes going by adding another controversial name to the mix? Plus, even at his current age, Rodgers is a better option than everyone on the current Browns roster.”

In Carter's fairness, Rodgers would probably be the best quarterback on the Browns roster right now. Of course, one could argue that Sanders or Gabriel would be better in the long term due to their ages, but in the immediate future, Rodgers would offer them more help than others.

Regardless, however, this isn't the type of move the Browns need to make. If they don't want to go with Gabriel or Sanders, they need to find a younger, better option.
