Sesko and Onana start, Diego Leon debut: Man Utd predicted XI for Grimsby Town with nine changes from Amorim

Manchester United boss Ruben Amorim plans to ring the changes for Wednesday’s Carabao Cup clash at League Two Grimsby Town with three games in seven days for the Red Devils.

United drew 1-1 at Fulham on Sunday afternoon and are now preparing for a trip to Lincolnshire on Wednesday in the second round of the League Cup. They then host Burnley at Old Trafford on Saturday afternoon.

Speaking about potential changes against Grimsby, Amorim said: “We have three games this week and we have quality players and we need to do rotation to try to win every game.”

Amorim was asked if a lack of European football this season made it harder to keep players happy who are not getting as much game-time. He said: “It is a normal thing that happens in other clubs. We were not prepared to play in Europe.

“That is my feeling, to have strong games in Europe and play in the Premier League. We need time to develop as a team. They need to fight for the places, then, everything can change. Sometimes one is playing, at other moments, another is going to play. We have the cups, so there will be a lot of games for everybody.”

The game against Grimsby presents Amorim with a good chance to give some of the club’s younger players a chance of first-team experience while rotating to allow fringe stars the chance to impress. With limited injury problems, here’s how we reckon Amorim could line his team up against the League Two side on Wednesday...
