Joleon Lescott has suggested that a player Manchester City signed for £38million was a better finisher than Thierry Henry.

Manchester City have had plenty of stars in their ranks over the years, particularly in the past decade and a half.

Since the Citizens ended their trophy drought in 2011, they have conquered the highest heights time and time again.

Now, Joleon Lescott has named one of City’s all-time legends as the best finisher he knows, ahead of the likes of Thierry Henry, Dennis Bergkamp and Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

Lescott, speaking on the Beast Mode On podcast, was asked to create his perfect player out of the best traits from some of the world’s best footballers.

Henry got the nod for right foot, while Lionel Messi was picked for his left foot.

Ibrahimovic was then selected for his physicality, while Dennis Bergkamp’s first touch got the nod for that particular section.

Henry was once again selected when it came to speed, while former Manchester United talent Giuseppe Rossi was picked for his movement.

And finally, when it came to overall finishing, Aguero got the nod.

Aston Villa’s Ezri Konsa recently said Aguero remains his toughest ever opponent.

Sergio Aguero’s career at Manchester City

Aguero joined Man City from Atletico Madrid in 2011 for a then club-record £38million.

It proved an absolute bargain for the Citizens, as Aguero went on to carve his name in City and Premier League folklore.

Aguero made 390 competitive appearances for the Etihad club, registering 260 goals and 64 assists in all competitions.

The Argentine won five Premier League titles, six League Cups, one FA Cup and three Community Shields while at City, before leaving on a free transfer in 2021.

Aguero was such a sensation for City that he now has a statue outside the Etihad Stadium.
