Matthijs de Ligt has shared the ultimate compliment on one important first-team Manchester United player at Old Trafford under Red Devils boss Ruben Amorim.
The 26-year-old Dutchman is in his second season at the Red Devils after he was reunited with former Ajax manager Erik ten Hag at Old Trafford last summer.
Matthijs de Ligt arrived at the Premier League club in 2024 alongside former Ajax and Bayern Munich teammate Noussair Mazraoui in a deal worth nearly £60m.
The Netherlands international played a key role under Erik ten Hag in the 2024-25 campaign before his fellow Dutch compatriot was sacked as United manager.
Following Ten Hag’s sacking at United last October, De Ligt continued to maintain his presence in the Red Devils’ first-team squad under manager Ruben Amorim.

Joining the United star in the defence is Leny Yoro, who has often played on the left or right side of the central defender in the Red Devils’ set-up under Amorim.
Leny Yoro arrived at Old Trafford in the same 2024 summer window as De Ligt and the 19-year-old Frenchman has firmly established himself in the first-team squad.
The United centre-back missed the opening of the 2024-25 Premier League season due to a 2024 pre-season injury before impressing on his return from the sidelines.
Speaking to the United We Stand magazine, De Ligt was asked to describe his different United teammates in one word and the Dutchman lavished praise on Yoro.
The Netherlands and United centre-back described Yoro as “talented,” with the French defender already becoming a favourite among United fans at Old Trafford.

The former Juventus ace showed incredible praise for United teenager Ayden Heaven, with De Ligt calling the ex-Arsenal academy product a “crazy” talent.
New summer signing Matheus Cunha was simply described as “samba,” while De Ligt insisted that United and Portugal defender Diogo Dalot is a real “professional.”
Outside of the one-word assessment for his United teammates, De Ligt was asked to do the same for Amorim and the Portuguese coach was labelled as “honest.”
