Leeds United would benefit massively from the arrival of Kobbie Mainoo.
Daniel Farke’s midfield options have been bolstered significantly this summer, though the injury to Leeds ace Ethan Ampadu has perhaps exposed the need for one more arrival in that area of the pitch.
MOT Leeds News exclusively revealed that Leeds hold an interest in Mainoo, though it would have to be a loan deal if anything were to come from it.
The 20-year-old has fallen out of favour at Man United, and if Leeds can somehow pull this one off, it would be the biggest addition yet.

Leeds United could do with another midfielder
Anton Stach, Ethan Ampadu and Ao Tanaka are all great options, but the depth after that isn’t overly strong.

Sean Longstaff will have a role to play for Leeds, while Ilia Gruev’s shortcomings were exposed in Leeds’ 5-0 defeat to Arsenal on Saturday evening.
Mainoo would almost certainly become the best midfielder at Elland Road if a move were to materialise, and his versatility would be key.
Kobbie Mainoo's stats
Mainoo’s stats show how his game has changed at Man United
The Englishman can play in any midfield role, and as showcased when he featured regularly for Man United, he has bags of ability that would transform this Leeds side.
He has an eye for goal, and his ability to progress with the ball is something that Leeds don’t have an awful lot of in the midfield department.
With his future at Man United expected to be cleared up in the coming days, it could be one to keep a close eye on.

What else do Leeds need to do before 1 September deadline?
Mainoo would be a great addition, but Leeds’ priority has to be strengthening their attacking options.
With Largie Ramazani heading for an exit from Elland Road, the Whites are one man down in that area, with concerns still present over Dan James’ ability to translate his performances into the Premier League.
At least two new attackers are needed in the next five days, with Dilane Bakwa one of those linked with Leeds.
Aside from that, Farke’s squad is well-stocked, [providing that injury concerns stay minimal.
