LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — An NBA star's father accused of **[stabbing another man at a Las Vegas park](https://news3lv.com/news/local/source-father-boston-celtics-star-jaylen-brown-arrested-las-vegas-stabbing-attempted-murder-crime-lvmpd-metro-police#)** returned to court on Tuesday.
Quenton Marselles Brown, 57, stood for a brief hearing and acknowledged receiving a criminal complaint, which formally charges him with attempted murder and three counts of battery with a deadly weapon.
Brown's attorney told Judge Kristal Bradford that they would invoke his right to a preliminary hearing within 15 days. Bradford scheduled that hearing for Tuesday, Sept. 9.
Las Vegas Metropolitan Police alleged Brown stabbed a man repeatedly after getting into an argument over a "door ding" at All American Park on Wednesday, Aug. 20.
The alleged victim suffered multiple stab wounds and a broken right rib and was last said to be in critical condition, according to an arrest report.
Bail was set at $300,000 during an initial appearance last week. At the time, Brown's attorney said he would be able to post bond within a few days.
Quenton Brown is the father of Boston Celtics player Jaylen Brown.
