Sam Greenwood now looks set to leave Leeds United in the coming days.
On Tuesday, Leeds agreed a £3.46million fee to sell Greenwood to Pogon Szczecin.
The sale will end the 23-year-old’s five-year stay at Elland Road after signing from Arsenal before developing in the academy.
However, the attacking midfielder never cemented a place in the starting XI after his first-team debut, which has now resulted in the impending sale.
However, Leeds are set to save millions from the sale, which could help them late in the transfer window.

Greenwood had been expected to leave Leeds this summer, and now this looks set to become a reality.
This is no doubt good business from the Peacocks, with the 23-year-old having less than a year on his contract.

Greenwood’s departure will save Leeds over a million in wages
According to Capology on 26 August, the attacking midfielder’s contract expires in June 2026, with Greenwood currently earning £30,000-a-week.
Therefore, if the deal were to be completed by next Monday, this would save Leeds £1.29million in wages.
However, this is only a basic salary and does not include potential bonuses and clauses, which could cost the Peacocks even more if Greenwood were set to stay.

Which Leeds stars are out of contract next year?
On top of Greenwood, there are plenty of players who are currently set to become free agents next summer.
One of the biggest names is Patrick Bamford, with Leeds seeking a sale for the striker.
Other backups also only have a year left on their deals, such as Sam Byram.

Therefore, Farke would be wise to find a potential buyer for these players before they have a chance to sign a pre-contract agreement in January.
