In their preseason finale, the Dallas Cowboys managed to avoid going winless by picking up a dominant win over the Atlanta Falcons. Despite their impressive play, the biggest storylines from the matchup ended up taking place on the sidelines.
As most know, Micah Parsons remains in a public standoff with the Cowboys' front office. He remains in pursuit of a contract extension, but the two sides have had very minimal discussions. Roughly a week before the regular season gets underway, Dallas is now the last team dealing with such off-field drama.
Parsons was in attendance to support his teammates against the Falcons, but was noticeably not in uniform. He'd end up going viral in the second half after pictures circled online of him lying down on the trainer's table.
The All-Pro linebacker set the record straight following this latest discourse, but it didn't stop one analyst from sounding off on his behavior.
Skip Bayless weighs in on Micah Parsons' viral preseason actions
Among those to weigh in on the latest discourse regarding Parsons was longtime Cowboys fan Skip Bayless. He didn't hold back his true thoughts on the star linebacker's stunt on Friday, dubbing his actions childish.
"So Micah Parsons went child-like the other night in the Cowboy game," Bayless said. "He protested by refusing to wear the jersey that's required of every non-playing player on the sidelines during preseason games...Not only was Micah not wearing No. 11, he further made a spectacle of himself. Threw a bit of a tantrum by lying down on a table behind the bench. Didn't stay for long but he did lie down."
Bayless also feels that this ordeal is just the latest example of why the Cowboys shouldn't hand Parsons a massive extension.
"The way Micah has handled this entire negotiation has done nothing but validate why I do not believe he is worth the most money ever paid to a defensive player," he continued. "Micah is not a team leader. He's more of a weekly podcast solo act who still has some maturing to do."
When addressing the media, head coach Brian Schottenheimer stated he planned to meet with Parsons to discuss what transpired on the sidelines. At this time, there are no further updates on discussions between the two.
The Cowboys are gearing up to face off against the Philadelphia Eagles on opening night next week, and it remains unknown if they'll have Parsons' services.
