Report: David Moyes has taken a clear stance about whether Everton should sign Nathan Ake from…

Nathan Ake has been linked with a shock move to Everton.

Manchester City News confirmed that Everton enquired about Ake’s availability alongside other players at the Etihad Stadium.

David Moyes hoped to help Jack Grealish redeem himself and so far, the Englishman is on the right track during his loan spell in Merseyside as he grabbed two assists against Brighton & Hove Albion.

Alongside Grealish, perhaps City fans would have wondered whether the Toffees would also try to snap the Dutchman up.

Everton boss David Moyes has ruled out Nathan Ake’s signing

Nathan Ake still seems to be in Pep Guardiola’s plans, as he started in two out of Manchester City’s four games at the FIFA Club World Cup earlier this summer.

Furthermore, with Rayan At-Nouri picking up an injury against Tottenham, the 30-year-old will have to be relied upon as his replacement at left-back as Josko Gvardiol is yet to return to full fitness.

Instead, other defenders are on the Merseyside-based club’s transfer shortlist including Ainsley Maitland-Niles, Kellen Fisher and Hector Fort.

Nathan Ake’s future could soon become uncertain at Man City

The former Chelsea centre-back’s previous campaign was marred by injuries as he started in just eight games in the Premier League.

Ake’s contract at Manchester City expires in 2027 and unless he bounces back this season, Pep Guardiola may be open to letting him go if Everton decided to make a move for him next year.

The four-time Champions League winner turns 31 in February 2026 and he is not getting any younger.

In order to earn a contract extension, Ake will have to rediscover the high standards he set during the 2023/2024 and 2022/2023 seasons.
