After two games in the Premier League, Leeds United now face a huge task in the EFL Cup on Tuesday night. The Whites will hope to bounce back after a huge defeat at the hands of Arsenal.
Daniel Farke’s side are away to the Owls as they hope to progress to the next round of the cup. Daniel Farke made it clear before the game that making it to the next round is important to him.

“We want of course to progress into the next round,” the Leeds boss said when asked about the cup tie.
“But, it’s also fair to say that the priority is definitely also on the Premier League and the survival of the Premier League, so we won’t do anything stupid.
“We won’t risk one player if there is an injury doubt or doubt in terms of load. We have also a few players who desperately need right now after two game days, perhaps not that much in the spotlight, also a bit a bit a game time.
Leeds face Newcastle United in the Premier League this weekend.

Daniel Farke rang the changes as a host of players got their chance to make a full debut. Jaka Bijol, Sebastiaan Bornauw, Sean Longstaff, Noah Okafor and Lukas Nmecha all start on Tuesday night.
One major absence in the team is Ao Tanaka. Farke said the midfielder would be assessed after he picked up an injury during the Arsenal game.
“After a tackle in the first half, he had problems with his MCL.
“He kept going and I hope it’s not too bad. I hope the assessment is not too bad. There are a few concerns that it would be an injury but it’s normally positive that he could play further on. But we will have to assess him and we will see how long it takes to get him fit and back to full fitness.”
He could have missed out on the game due to precaution, but with no official news on his status yet, there is a lot of worry. Especially if it is the same type of MCL injury Ethan Ampadu picked up – because he has been ruled out for over a month.
