Shedeur Sanders walks off the field after Cleveland Browns OTA offseason workouts.

The Cleveland Browns‘ quarterback situation doesn’t seem to be ending anytime soon, with many believing that the team will have to decide on one of the young quarterbacks in the near future. It’ll be up to the organization to pick either Shedeur Sanders or Dillon Gabriel, with many questioning what the right decision would be.

According to FOX Sports host Colin Cowherd, he believes that it’ll come with Sanders winning the job for the Browns. He spoke about having conversations with Sanders in the past and loving him as a kid, adding that he believes he’ll eventually get a chance to start, and he’ll do what he has to do.

“I do, and it’s just kind of fascinating,”Cowherd said on “The Joel Klatt Show.” “I mean, like when you drop in the draft, it’s like Aaron Rodgers dropped to the late first. You don’t get, oh, ‘first round guy dropped to the mid-fifth’ or something. I mean, it’s like, what am I watching? It’s like a boulder coming down a hill and wrecking a neighborhood. It’s like, whoa. I mean, I was like, ‘Okay, I get it, late-second,’ and like, by the fourth, I’m like, ‘You’re not gonna get drafted. You’re not gonna get drafted.’

“So it was historic, and yet he was okay with it, like he wasn’t selling something he was a little somber, but he wasn’t sullen, he wasn’t angry, he wasn’t defensive. (Shedeur) was like, ‘Hey, man, I can’t wait to get the opportunity.’ So I was like, alright, that’s an easy guy to root for. I’m okay with that. I thought he handled it pretty well.”

NFL Teams Warned About Shedeur Sanders

Everything that’s happened over the past few months with Sanders hasn’t been ideal for anybody. Whether it was teams suggesting not to draft him due to his play, attitude, or other reasons, many believe there’s something else that went on.

That includes a former NFL player, Eric Dickerson, who went as far as saying that teams were told not to draft Sanders.

“I tell you this much, what I heard from someone that’s in the NFL that the NFL told [teams] don’t draft him, do not draft him,”Dickerson said on “Roggin and Rodney.” “We’re going to make an example out of him. And this came from a very good source, a very good source.”

“He said that – I won’t say who – somebody called the Cleveland Browns and said ‘don’t do that, draft him,’” Dickerson said. “Because they weren’t going to draft him either… They were forced into drafting him because somebody made a call to them.”

Does Shedeur Sanders Need Out of Cleveland?

No one can confirm that anyone instructed teams to avoid drafting the Cleveland Browns’ rookie unless a bombshell report proves it.

Unfortunately, whatever happened happened, and Sanders can’t continue to let that bother him. He hasn’t so far, which is a good thing, but his NFL career is young, and he still has plenty to prove to the doubters.

For his sake, hopefully, he’ll get an opportunity with the Browns to show that he’s much better than a lot of people are giving him credit for.
