Crystal Palace’s pursuit of Yeremy Pino took a very positive turn on Tuesday morning.
After a lot of doubt around whether the Eagles could convince the 22-year-old to join them and beat off competition in the process, the whole thing took an optimistic turn with the Spanish media believing Oliver Glasner’s side were closing in on a deal.
Tuesday evening brings a pretty definitive report from Spanish newspaper Marca, and it states the Premier League side have now agreed a fee with Villarreal. Some early claims spoke of Crystal Palace needing to pay something like €50m or perhaps more, but that appeared unrealistic at the time.
Marca now report Crystal Palace and Villarreal have agreed on the transfer at a fee around €30m.
According to Marca, Villarreal had made an attempt to renew Pino’s contract and therefore keep him, but he wants an adventure in the Premier League and is off to Crystal Palace.
