Dango Ouattarra hit the game’s only goal on his debut, following his club record £42.5m transfer from AFC Bournemouth, to seal a 1-0 victory over Aston Villa.
Following Ouattarra’s 12th-minute strike, the Bees commanded proceedings, as Villa failed to pose any real attacking threat.
Andrews said: "The overriding emotion is pride. I spoke before about identity of our team.
“I felt we saw it in abundance, the spirit and connection between players, staff and fans. Ultimately we produced a performance that was us."
Ouattarra was mightily impressive throughout his 84 minutes on the pitch, outside of his first goal in Brentford colours.
He won the most aerial duels of any Brentford player and constantly harassed Villa defenders, making four tackles and six clearances.

The 23-year-old’s new boss was waxing lyrical after the game and said: "His goal will get the headlines but there were aspects of the game, the selflessness nature of how he approached the game for the team, that's what was needed today to get a result.
“If he didn't stick to that task it was going to be difficult to deal with them. He was amazing.
"He will be a big player for this club. His attributes are there to see and you'll see more of that as we get more control of games and we're able to feed him a bit more.
"But the out of possession shift he did today was selfless. It was very impressive, but I'm not too surprised. I'm really impressed with him as an individual."
Jordan Henderson received a standing ovation from the Gtech faithful after a solid 68-minute performance.
England boss Thomas Tuchel was in attendance and will have had an eye on Henderson following his recall into the Three Lions squad back in March.
Henderson said: "It was nice to be back, The Premier League is the best in the world and hopefully I can play a few more.
"I know it won't be easy for us this season, but there are so many good people in the club. With the kind of performance and passion we have shown for each other, we can move in the right direction."

Despite the positive result, there was still no place for Yoane Wissa as the forward tries to force a move away from the Bees.
Though Newcastle submitted a £40m bid for Wissa, Brentford will reportedly not settle for any less than their valuation of £50m, especially given Bryan Mbeumo’s move to Manchester United.
Andrews said: "I felt it was right for the group. We needed a group today that was absolutely committed to showing what we're about.
“Identity, what this club is and how it's been built. I felt it was the right decision not to include Yoane."
