Benjamin Morrison Still Dealing With Hamstring Issue

So it’s been three weeks since rookie Bucs cornerback Benjamin Morrison injured a hamstring.

The second-round pick hasn’t practiced since, and Joe’s report weeks ago that Morrison would miss the entire preseason was accurate.

Today, Todd Bowles told Joe and assembled media that Morrison is still out of practice but is running and might be ready to roll next week. That’s encouraging, but it also speaks to how significant Morrison’s hamstring issue was/is.

Joe doesn’t see hamstring issues in Morrison’s history at Notre Dame, so Joe hopes Morrison follows rehab orders closely and is honest with Bucs trainers. The Bus likely will need him when/if starting outside cornerback Jamel Dean gets injured.

Given his backup status, Joe expects Morrison to be playing special teams. Joe will be watching closely when Morrison is active and makes those full-throttle sprints down field.
