Report: 'Unbelievable' Man City player now wants to join another Premier League club

Brazilian football journalist Jorge Nicola has made a big claim about the future of Manchester City goalkeeper Ederson.

The Brazilian goalkeeper’s future at Manchester City is incredibly uncertain amid speculation linking him with a move away.

Turkish giants Galatasaray are trying to seal a deal for Ederson, but other clubs are reportedly in the picture too.

For instance, it has been reported that Saudi Pro League clubs Al Ittihad and Al Nassr are still interested in signing Ederson this summer.

There have also been rumours linking Ederson with Flamengo, but Nicola has played down these reports as he shared where the player apparently wants to play next.

Jorge Nicola claims Ederson wants Premier League move

Nicola has taken to YouTube to dismiss the prospect of Ederson returning to his native Brazil and linking up with Flamengo.

Speaking on his channel, Nicola said there is “no chance” of the City goalkeeper moving to Flamengo this summer.

The Brazilian journalist then claimed Ederson’s intention is to continue in England rather than consider a move to another country.

“Galatasaray are willing to pay good money for the Brazilian goalkeeper and also salary,” said Nicola.

“Ederson is reluctant to the idea because he intends to continue playing in England.”

Should Nicola’s claim be true, it would suggest that the “unbelievable” City keeper has made a U-turn, considering Ederson is said to be keen on a switch to Galatasaray.

Why Manchester City should not sell Ederson to a Premier League rival

Although Galatasaray appear to be frontrunners for Ederson, anything can happen in the transfer window.

But even if City are given the chance to sell Ederson to a Premier League rival for a higher sum of money, they should not entertain this idea.

City very nearly got stung when they sold Oleksandr Zinchenko and Gabriel Jesus to Arsenal a few years ago, as the duo took them to title contention level.

All too often you hear of players who play at 110 per cent when they face their former clubs and deprive them of points.

With that in mind, City should stick with selling Ederson to a club in an overseas league, where the risk of him coming back to haunt his former side would be minimised.
