NBA Star Kevin Durant Makes Stunning Commanders Prediction

Coming off a season where they nearly reached the Super Bowl, expectations are high for the Washington Commanders. In this final stretch before the 2025 campaign gets underway, one of their biggest fans let out a bold prediction as they attempt to contend in the NFC.

Last season, there were few bigger success stories in the NFL than the Commanders. Quarterback Jayden Daniels burst on the scene in a big way, putting together one of the best rookie years in recent memory. He proved to be a superstar in the making, leading Washington all the way to the conference championship in his first season.

After shattering expectations in 2024, the Commanders' front office quickly got to work rounding out the roster around Daniels. Now with an array of upgraded pieces alongside him, Washington will look to maintain its upward trajectory.

Kevin Durant confident Commanders can win the Super Bowl this season

When it comes to the Commanders' fanbase, one of the most notable names is Kevin Durant. As a D.C. native, the NBA star is all in on the potential of this new-look Washington squad.

Last year, Durant dove further into his football fandom by becoming an NFL ambassador for FanDuel. He gave weekly picks throughout the 2024 season and is back in the mix before the action officially kicks off.

During FanDuel's "Futures Day," Durant was asked to give his Super Bowl prediction. He believes the Commanders will take down the Baltimore Ravens to be the last team standing, with Jayden Daniels adding a SBMVP to his resumé.

"I'm gonna go Commanders versus Ravens," Durant said. "A little Beltway battle. Of course, Commanders win. Jayden Daniels Super Bowl MVP."

From a talent perspective, the Commanders certainly have what it takes to contend in the NFC. That said, pulling off another deep run won't be easy. There will be multiple talented teams in their way, one of them being in their own division.

After eliminating the Commanders and winning the Super Bowl last season, the Philadelphia Eagles are positioned to potentially go back-to-back.

One thing Washington has going for it right now is that they were able to rectify things with wide receiver Terry McLaurin. With him re-entering the fold, Daniels has the firepower to remain on the path towards superstardom as he looks to lead the charge for the Commanders.
