Similar to every NFL team, the New England Patriots had until Tuesday, August 26, to trim their roster of 90 players to finalize their 53-man roster by 3 PM CST. The front office had to make the difficult decision of releasing/waiving players who have fought long and hard for their whole lives to fulfill their dream of playing in the National Football League and making an active roster. This week will be the most challenging for players, agents, head coaches, assistant coaches, and general managers.
Without further ado, here is the Patriots’ initial 53-man roster, based on three separate groups: offense, defense, and special teams.
