Jarrod Bowen has spoken out about his angry reaction after West Ham lost to Wolves on Tuesday.

West Ham fell to a 3-2 defeat against Wolves on 26 August despite taking the lead through the Aston Villa-linked Lucas Paqueta in the second half.

This represents three defeats on the bounce for Graham Potter, with frustration continuing to build at the London Stadium and beyond.

It is clear that this became too much as Bowen ripped the captain’s armband off after West Ham lost at Wolves after an altercation with supporters in the away end.

This was far from a good look for Bowen and the Hammers, something which he has since spoken out to rectify after the loss in the Black Country.

It is fair to say that both West Ham and Wolves were dreadful for the most part at Molineux before Jorgen Strand Larsen changed the tide for the hosts.

West Ham and Wolves struggled in the Carabao Cup

The Norway international subjected the Irons to another defeat, just days after being smashed at home by Enzo Maresca’s Chelsea.

As a result of this, it was little surprise to see tensions boil over in the West Midlands, as fans let their frustrations be known to the players.

It is clear that this was too much for Bowen as he looked to jump the advertisement barriers to move closer to the travelling supporters.

Stewards and his Hammers teammates stopped this from happening before Bowen ripped off the captain’s armband before making his way down the tunnel.

This led to immediate questions over his future before Bowen immediately took to his Instagram story (26 August) to apologise to the fans for his actions.

He said: “Apologies to the fans for tonight’s reaction. I’m someone who is passionate and will fight every time I step on the pitch.

“But I need to set a better example, and you fans know how much I love you and this club. We ride through the bad times, and I’ll see you all Sunday.”

Jarrod Bowen shows class with instant apology

At this point, there is no true indication as to what was said towards the skipper and his teammates after full-time at Molineux.

It is easy to imagine what sorts of sentiments were aimed at the West Ham players, having fallen to a late defeat in such a difficult fashion.

For Bowen to have reacted in such a way, it certainly looks to have been unsavoury comments were made.

With that being said, a footballer looking to be so aggressive towards supporters is always going to be a bad look, something which the England international is clearly aware of.

It is great to see him apologise so quickly and put an end to any potential transfer rumours that are likely to come off the back of such antics.
