The NFL deadline for roster cuts has passed, meaning the Detroit Lions officially have their 2025 squad.

Now that the roster is finalized and the preseason is over, the team is looking ahead to their Week 1 opponent and divisional rival, the Green Bay Packers. The two teams will open their seasons on Sunday, Sept. 7 at 4:25 p.m. ET at Lambeau Field.

The Lions won their second consecutive NFC North championship last season with a 6-0 division record and a 15-2 record. They defeated the Packers twice, once on the road, 24-14, and once at home, 34-31, despite a depleted defense due to injury.

Following the team’s game against the Packers, Detroit will return to Ford Field for their home opener against another divisional rival, the Chicago Bears.
