On Tuesday, singer Taylor Swift and Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce announced their engagement with a joint post on Instagram.
Swift wrote in the caption, "Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married."
Rich Eisen was one of the sports media personalities who was on air doing his weekday show when the news broke of the couple's engagement.
As a result, Eisen was able to give a genuine reaction when others on the show told him about the breaking news.
"Awesome," Eisen said on the "Rich Eisen Show." "I mean, congratulations. This is awesome. I'm so happy honestly... He's come a long way professionally, personally, and emotionally. Awesome. Hey man, that New Heights podcast with the two of them and Jason-there's a reason why it made a gajillion people happy watching. And it's not just because of their fame. It's that they're real."

Moreover, Eisen reacted to the next step and asked the members on the show what wedding gift they should send the newly engaged couple.
"Where are we getting married?" Eisen added. "Do we know where they're registered? Can we get him, like, a 'Rich Eisen Show' mug? Don't you think you need your coffee in the morning?"
Kelce and Swift's story started in July 2023, when he went to her Eras Tour stop at Arrowhead Stadium. Not long after, Kelce admitted he had tried to meet her at the concert but wasn't able to.
A couple of months later, Swift fueled speculation about their relationship when she showed up at a Chiefs game, sitting in Kelce's suite with his mother, Donna. What began as Kelce shooting his shot soon turned into a relationship - and now, the two are engaged."
