The Denver Nuggets have been one of the most active teams in the NBA this offseason as they have made multiple additions to their roster to help them compete for a championship this season.

Of course, the Nuggets were eliminated in the second round of the playoffs for the second consecutive season last year and they felt that it was time for them to make some changes to their roster around Nikola Jokic, Jamal Murray and Aaron Gordon.

Denver began the summer by trading Michael Porter Jr. and a first-round pick to the Brooklyn Nets for Cameron Johnson to not only add a sharpshooting forward, but also open cap space for them to make more moves.

With their extra cap space, the Nuggets signed Bruce Brown and Tim Hardaway Jr. in free agency and they also acquired Jonas Valanciunas in a trade with the Sacramento Kings.

By making these moves, the Nuggets were able to upgrade their rotation which has many around the league expecting them to be the biggest threat to the Oklahoma City Thunder next season.

Danilo Gallinari open to NBA comeback

While the Nuggets have made moves this offseason, one of their former players has been in the spotlight over the past few weeks and he recently revealed that he would be open to an NBA return.

That player is veteran forward Danilo Gallinari who revealed to Iacopo De Santis that he would welcome a return to the NBA if given the chance.

“Hopefully, I always hope so,” Gallinari said about a potential NBA return. “If I were to return, it would be as a veteran, kind of like insurance for a franchise. I wouldn’t play much and would serve as a helpful presence.”

Of course, Gallinari is coming off a season in which he won a championship and Finals MVP with Puerto Rican squad Vaqueros de Bayamon.

This came after he left the NBA in 2024 after playing for three different teams in his 14th season in the league.

Gallinari was selected sixth overall by the New York Knicks in 2008 but he found most of his success during his six seasons with the Nuggets.

Over his 14 seasons in the NBA, the 37-year-old forward averaged 14.9 points, 4.7 rebounds and 1.9 assists per game while shooting 42.8% from the field and 38.1% from three.

With his comments, it is clear that Gallinari is open to returning to the NBA in more of a veteran leadership role but he could also provide a contender with another solid forward on their roster to come off the bench while also being a leader in the locker room.
