Taylor Elgersma, a London native, has been released by the Green Bay Packers in their final roster cuts.
The undrafted rookie quarterback may have a chance to return to the Packer’s organization as a member of the team’s practice squad.
He played in three pre-season games, completing 16 of 23 passes for 166 yards, with one touchdown and zero interceptions. During the pre-season finale, Elgersma threw his first NFL touchdown pass at Lambeau Field.
For the entire pre-season, Elgersma went 16-23 for 166 yards and one touchdown.
He went through some growing pains during training camp, and game action as he adjusts to American-style football which is 11 vs 11 rather than 12 vs 12 in Canada.
Elgersma previously played Canadian university football at Wilfrid Laurier.
