Gareth Barry’s Manchester City career
Barry joined Man City in 2009 from Aston Villa for £12million, having clocked up a gargantuan 439 appearances for the Villans.
The versatile midfielder spent five years on Man City’s books, making 175 appearances for the Citizens and helping them win their first two trophies since the 1960s.
Barry helped City win the 2010/11 FA Cup before getting his hands on the Premier League title the following season.
He spent the 2013/14 season on loan at Everton, who he joined permanently in the summer of 2014 after his City contract came to an end.
Barry also played for West Bromwich Albion, during which he broke the record for most Premier League appearances by one player.
When he hung up his boots, his Premier League appearance tally stood at 653, a record that could soon be broken by another former Man City player in James Milner.
