Dave Edwards claims Wolves may have found their next Adama Traore

Wolves hero Dave Edwards has been very impressed by one Wolves player this season, who reminds him of Adama Traore.

A long-time servant to the Old Gold, Dave Edwards still follows Wolves closely.

He regularly writes about the club and has a vested interest in their success.

Despite a disappointing loss at Vitality Stadium at the weekend, one player caught the former Wolves midfielder’s eye.

Dave Edwards compares new Wolves signing Jackson Tchatchoua to Adama Traore

As we all heard last week, Jackson Tchatchoua was the fastest player in Serie A last season. That pace was clear to see against Bournemouth, and Edwards hopes he can be their next beloved speedster.

Writing for E&S, he remarks: “Jackson Tchatchoua has got pace, which is something we really crave at the moment.

“There’s different ways to be creative in football, you don’t have to be Matheus Cunha or Rayan Ait-Nouri who can manipulate the ball, you can be someone like Adama Traore running past people and hopefully we’ll get that from Tchatchoua.”

Tchatchoua’s debut was all positive despite the result, and he already looks comfortable with the physicality of the league, something Vitor Pereira expected when he arrived.

Hopefully, he can build on the performance and become a reliable starting option with the ability to drive Wolves forward.

Jackson Tchatchoua’s arrival could benefit Rodrigo Gomes

While it seems logical to assume the new right wing-back would be an unwelcome sight for Wolves’ Rodrigo Gomes, it might be a blessing in disguise.

It’s clear he isn’t in favour for that role, with Ki-Jana Hoever getting the nod up until his injury.

But Gomes has so much talent and promise to waste away on the bench for the season.

This is a player who was deployed all over the pitch by Pereira last season, and his work rate and attitude have made him loved by Wolves fans.

With Wolves in desperate need of creativity, Gomes could now move into an attacking role, even just as an impact player off the bench. With how flat Wolves have looked lately, there’s no harm in trying.
