Former Newcastle United midfielder Isaac Hayden has found himself a new club following his release earlier this summer.
While it is a shame to see yet another longstanding member of the team go, it is fair to say that Isaac Hayden needed a permanent move away from the Magpies.
Now 30, Hayden has not played for Newcastle United since 2021. Following a series of injuries and loan moves, it was confirmed that the club had mutually agreed to terminate Hayden’s contract.
After the announcement, Hayden posted an emotional message on social media, thanking the Newcastle fans for their support over the years.
Now, it has been confirmed that Hayden has joined Championship side QPR, his first permanent move since 2016. With his next move made public, Newcastle players have sent the midfielder messages.

Newcastle United players wish Isaac Hayden luck after QPR move
For the Jamaican international, it is a return to Loftus Road, rather than a first-time visit upon signing. Hayden was loaned to the Hoops in 2024, making 17 appearances.
However, QPR are now Hayden’s permanent home after a string of loan moves across England and Europe. There was hope on the South Coast that the midfielder would join Portsmouth, but Hayden was quick to brush off any transfer speculation.

In the comments, there was a message from Cathal Heffernan, who said: “All the best.” Meanwhile, young attacker Alfie Harrison responded with fire and clapping emojis.
Hayden used to love training with Bruno Guimaraes at Newcastle, but now he will be playing alongside top Championship players like Kwame Poku and Karamoko Dembele.
Isaac Hayden’s interesting first interview after joining QPR
Hayden will be in line to make his debut against Charlton in the Championship on Saturday, with QPR hoping to bag their first win of the season.
It remains unknown whether Hayden will start in the game at Loftus Road or if he will be an impact sub late on.
In his first interview with qpr.co.uk, Hayden revealed the choices he had which he turned down in favour of the Hoops, and why he hopes to be part of Jamaica’s World Cup squad next year.
“It’s fantastic,” he said. “It was special to have the conversation with Christian (Nourry) and the head coach (Julien Stéphan) in terms of them wanting me back at the club.
“I had a few options to go abroad, but it was one of those where if I was going to stay in the Championship, it was only going to be one club and I’m just glad to get it done.
“This year especially for me is a big one.
“With Jamaica we’ve got the potential for a World Cup at the end of the season, six massive games to try and qualify. But obviously for me to play for them, I need to be playing football at a good level.
“I want to try and play as much as possible. Everyone thinks you hit the big 3-0 and it’s downhill from there. But I do feel like I’ve got so much more in me.”
