Jarrod Bowen was the centre of attention as West Ham suffered a defeat to Wolves in the Carabao Cup on Tuesday night.
Graham Potter’s side lost 3-2 to Wolves at Molineux, adding to the Hammers’ misery after their disastrous start to the Premier League season.
After the game, Bowen confronted West Ham fans before tearing off his captain’s armband as tempers boiled over in the away end.
Bowen then apologised to West Ham fans on Instagram for the incident and to also address the result, which is his side’s third defeat out of three games this season.

Mark Chapman issues explanation on Jarrod Bowen incident
Mark Chapman was in the Sky Sports studio as he watched things get heated up post the full-time whistle.

He claims that at the end of it, Bowen needed to be calmed down as he was reacting to something said by one of the travelling Hammers fans.
Chapman saw the England international visibly frustrated and unhappy as his side suffered their third defeat in a row.
West Ham opened their campaign with a loss to Sunderland and then were humiliated by local rivals Chelsea at the London Stadium.
Chapman said on Sky Sports Main Event on 26 August: “So the problems mount for Graham Potter and at the end it looked like Jarrod Bowen had to be calmed down as he was reacting to something we assume that was said by one of the away supporters, but he is not happy at the end of that game.”

Jarrod Bowen must be treated better by West Ham fans
The actions of the West Ham fan(s) confronting Bowen after the Wolves defeat were unacceptable, as targeting a player who has consistently shown loyalty and dedication is unjust.
The 26-year-old, a key figure for the Hammers, has fought tirelessly for the club through challenging times, including their recent struggles in the Premier League and Carabao Cup.
While frustrations are understandable given the Irons’ poor start, singling out Bowen, who has remained committed when others might have left, is unfair.
His passion, evident in his reaction, reflects his investment in the club’s success.
The deeper issues at West Ham lie beyond one player, and Bowen, a proven leader, deserves respect for his unwavering commitment, not criticism from those he strives to represent.
