Everton are now in the final stages of the window, and a move for West Ham United’s Tomas Soucek is still being explored.
David Moyes could reunite with one of his former players, with the Blues looking to land some last-minute deals.
Everton News understands that Everton have made a new bid for Soucek, which was quickly rebuffed by the Hammers.
It is believed the offer from Everton has seen disagreements behind the scenes at West Ham as to whether the midfielder should be sold.
Everton have a long-standing interest in Soucek, and they could look to free the Czech international from what has been a disastrous start to the season.
Soucek knows Moyes incredibly well after the 62-year-old brought him to England.
With the clock ticking down ahead of the deadline, West Ham manager Graham Potter has now provided an update on Soucek’s future.

Fuel was naturally added to the fire, but the West Ham manager has now shared an update on his midfielder.
Speaking on the back of West Ham’s Carabao Cup loss against Wolves, Potter admitted he does not expect Soucek to depart.
“Tomas is incredibly important for us,” he said.
“You see his qualities and what he brings to the team. I can’t see him going anywhere.”
Everton are keen to add a new midfielder before Monday, but it would appear a deal for Soucek is going to be a big ask.
West Ham find themselves needing a lot of new players ahead of the deadline, which will make a potential exit for Soucek extremely difficult.
Everton may struggle to prise Soucek away from West Ham
Given the start to the season that West Ham have endured, the last thing they need is to be offloading players like Soucek.
