Crysencio Summerville has missed both the West Ham games this season due to a hamstring injury.
West Ham have been cautious with Summerville’s return to action as they do not want to risk a re-injury.
In the FA Cup loss to Aston Villa in January, the Dutch attacker felt something in his hamstring and since then, he has been ruled out of action for the Hammers.
Summerville’s injury was worse than feared initially, and that’s what kept him out until the end of the season.

Crysencio Summerville not expected to be at 100% until October
It has been over half a year since the 23-year-old last played first-team football, so he is severely lacking match sharpness.
Dr Rajpal Brar believes that while he could return to first-team training by the end of August, he’s not expected to be at 100 per cent fitness until October.
He also expects Summerville to be eased back into action so as to minimise his workload as not doing so risks another injury.

Summerville has been underwhelming for the Hammers.
Dr Brar told West Ham Zone: “This was likely either a lower-grade muscle injury on his hamstring that remained nagging, so he underwent surgery, or it was a lower-grade injury that re-injured to the degree that it required surgery.
“Based on what has been said, it sounds like he might be in training by the end of the month.
“He may not be at 100 per cent until October, however, and will likely be eased back into action.”

West Ham will demand more from Crysencio Summerville
Summerville’s return from a hamstring injury marks a critical juncture for his West Ham career.
After a promising start following his £25million move from Leeds, the winger’s inconsistency and injury setbacks have raised doubts.
He must now deliver standout performances to secure his place.
Failure to shine in this campaign could see the club, under pressure to fund further signings, offload him by season’s end.
At 23, this is a make-or-break season for Summerville to prove his worth and avoid being sold.
