The future of Rasmus Hojlund at Man United has been up in the air for some time and he has now agreed terms of a contract to join Napoli.
As per today’s edition of La Gazzetta Dello Sport, the Danish international has said ‘yes’ to the contract offered by the Italian champions.
News –Report – £70million star now willing to seal Manchester United exit
The Milan based media outlet have mentioned that initially, the Naples based side offered a deal worth 3.5 million euros a year to the young center forward.
However, it was not enough and now, they have agreed a contract that will make 22-year-old earn 5 million euros a year, £21.6million in the next five years.
As far as the fee is concerned, according to Corriere dello Sport, Man United have agreed a deal worth 45 million euros, £38.8million, to sell Hojlund to Napoli.
However, he difference, is related to the terms of the obligation. Napoli is offering him conditional on his number of appearances and qualification for next season’s Champions League, while United would like him to be a sure thing, or at least very feasible,
Gazzetta claim that for obligation, the Old Trafford outfit are not interested in the number of goals Hojlund scores, but rather in what the Serie A side can achieve with the player.
The Red Devils have decided to secure the deal if the agreement includes a convenient clause, such as Champions League qualification, and a moderate number of appearances.
Hojlund only netted 4 goals in the Premier League last season for Man United, who have kept him out of the squad in both the league fixtures this season so far.
With only a few days left in the summer transfer window, let’s see whether all parties can complete the agreement to seal the transfer.
