Report: Chelsea set to pay more than Liam Delap for Alejandro Garnacho as broad agreement reached

It must be an anxious wait for Alejandro Garnacho to find out if he’ll be joining Chelsea.

Manchester United winger Alejandro Garnacho, 21, has been heavily linked with a move to Stamford Bridge throughout the summer transfer window. Can the Blues wrap up the deal before Monday’s deadline?

Chelsea’s directors all want to sign Garnacho, and his data is greatly admired by everyone at the club.

It’s been claimed that Chelsea have been waiting for more sales before officially making their move for the Man Utd attacker. Apparently, Garnacho has an agreement in place with Chelsea, so it’s up to the Premier League clubs to finalise the transfer during negotiations.

Positive update as Chelsea reach agreement for Alejandro Garnacho

According to CaughtOffside, Chelsea and Man Utd now have a ‘broad agreement’ in place for the permanent transfer of Garnacho.

The deal has advanced in the last couple of days, even though it’s still not 100% wrapped up. It is understood that there are still some final details to settle as the Blues continue their push to sell more individuals this summer.

The report explains that the feeling is that both Chelsea and Man Utd will settle on a deal in the region of £50m with add-ons included.

Garnacho has rejected the likes of Bayern Munich and teams in the Saudi Pro League to focus on joining Chelsea, which is why supporters should be encouraged by his clear desire to play for Enzo Maresca’s side. Hopefully, the Argentine speedster can secure his move in the next few days.

Garnacho has told his friends he’s joining Chelsea this summer, so it would be a huge blow if the move collapses in the eleventh hour.

Alejandro Garnacho will cost more than Liam Delap

Chelsea have made some statement signings already in this busy summer transfer window, especially in the attacking positions.

The Blues paid £30m (Sky Sports) to sign Liam Delap in June when they activated the striker’s release clause at Ipswich Town. Without a doubt, it looks like great value for money because the 22-year-old forward has so much quality and potential.

If the reports above are true, Chelsea will pay significantly more to land Man Utd talent Garnacho.

In fairness, Garnacho has proven he can handle himself at the highest level since breaking into the first team at Old Trafford a few years ago. He’s scored 26 goals and created 22 assists in 144 senior appearances in Man Utd colours.

We’re actually pretty confident that he can live up to a £50m deal because the touchline winger should suit Maresca’s system.
