Manchester United are understood to have failed with a surprise attempt to sign Paris Saint-Germain striker Randal Kolo Muani.
The France international, valued at around €60m by PSG, still favours a permanent transfer to Juventus, sources with links to the agents industry have informed CaughtOffside.
Kolo Muani spent time on loan at Juve last season and is keen to return there, though the Serie A giants have so far been unable to reach an agreement with PSG.
Sources then alerted CaughtOffside to the fact that this led to Man Utd making contact over a possible deal for Kolo Muani.
However, the player was not keen, according to our source, with other well-placed figures backing this up.

One source explained: “Manchester United, while waiting to reach a total agreement with Napoli for the departure of Rasmus Hojlund, have started to explore alternative names for their attack. Among the players considered is PSG striker Randal Kolo Muani.
“United recently made contact, asking for information and signalling to the player’s entourage their interest in opening talks. However, Kolo Muani has given no indication of being open to a move to Old Trafford. The French forward has made his stance clear: his priority is Juventus.”
It remains to be seen if this deal will come to fruition, but Juventus seem to be doing their best to make room on their wage bill by offloading Dusan Vlahovic.
Do Man Utd really need Kolo Muani?
It seems United are keen to add more depth up front once Hojlund leaves, as expected.
Another source indicated to CaughtOffside that the Red Devils “could step in again” if Kolo Muani cannot get his move to Juventus.

It is not yet clear which other options could be considered in that position, but Ruben Amorim seems keen to have more options up front alongside new signing Benjamin Sesko and last summer’s new addition Joshua Zirkzee.
Kolo Muani could have been a good option and might remain one to watch, but it seems he’s not currently interested in discussing a move to Old Trafford.
