**A Premier League side are now “ready to make a move” for Liverpool midfielder Harvey Elliott, according to former scout Mick Brown.**
The 22-year-old continues to struggle for minutes for the Reds, as was also the case last season, with only a late cameo in Monday’s 3-2 win at Newcastle United coming his way.
Elliott has been linked with a move away from Liverpool throughout the summer transfer window, and speaking to [_Football Insider_](https://www.footballinsider247.com/crystal-palace-to-hold-talks-with-liverpool-over-agreeing-harvey-elliott-deal/), Brown claimed that Crystal Palace are readying a move for him:
“_It will be very difficult for Palace to replace Eze._ _He was such a key figure in the squad and in the way they played._ _But it’s something they’ve already started working on, and there are a few players they’re looking at who could potentially come in and replace him._
_“Harvey Elliott is one who I hear they could be ready to make a move for._ _He would be a good player for a number of clubs, and there are a few in the Premier League who are still keeping an eye on his situation._
_“I think he would fit in well with the way Palace play, in that position where he’s not quite a winger and not quite a number ten, he can drift around._ _I’m surprised he hasn’t found a destination yet, Elliott, because there’s been no shortage of interest._
_“I expected him to move somewhere like a Palace, Fulham, Nottingham Forest and yes it might still happen, but it’s late in the window now._ _So I think Palace, in their attempts to replace Eze, will be looking at Elliott as an option and I expect they’ll speak to Liverpool to see what it might take.”_
**A swap deal involving Marc Guehi?**
-------------------------------------
Elliott is such a talented player – one who can play “anywhere”, according to former Liverpool man [Joe Cole](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/articles/c1ljpyvq20eo) – but this feels like the time for him to leave Anfield, becoming a key starter elsewhere.
Ideally, the Englishman could be involved in a swap deal involving Marc Guehi, with the Palace captain emerging as a leading option to bolster the Reds’ centre-back options this summer.
The Eagles could see Elliott as an ideal replacement for Eberechi Eze, adding creativity in attacking midfield areas, and it is easy to see him flourishing there.
It remains to be seen if a move to Selhurst Park materialises, or if Guehi will head in the opposite direction, but that feels like the ideal outcome.
