Player travels to London in ‘next few hours’ to complete Crystal Palace move

On Tuesday evening, Marca reported Crystal Palace agreed terms with Villarreal to sign Yeremy Pino for €30m this summer.

Wednesday’s edition of El Periódico Mediterráneo claims it was ‘practically impossible’ for the winger to say no to Crystal Palace’s offer.

The FA Cup winners first offered €25m last week and this didn’t please the La Liga side. Their proposal also didn’t please the 22-year-old.

Crystal Palace returned with an improved bid for both the Yellow Submarine and Pino. On Tuesday, the two clubs reached an agreement for €30m.

The Spain international’s contract expires in 2027 and he currently earns €1.2m per year at Villarreal. They offered an extension, but he rejected it in favour of the Eagles.

The newspaper reports Crystal Palace will quadruple his salary as he’ll earn more than €4m net annually at Selhurst Park. Villarreal didn’t put any put obstacles to his exit as they knew this offer was ‘financially irresistible’ to Pino.

Cadena Ser are also reporting the attacker will quadruple his salary with Oliver Glasner’s side.

It’s claimed Pino ‘will travel to London in the next few hours’ to carry out medical tests and sign his contract with Crystal Palace.
