The Clarets took the lead after only four minutes through Aaron Ramsey. However, the Rams levelled things up before half time through Bobby Clark.
Scott Parker’s men then managed to find the winner in stoppage time when defender Oliver Sonne struck. Nevertheless, there were still positives to take for the visitors.
Sanderson impressed in the heart of defence for Derby County in Lancashire and journalist Curtis delivered his verdict, as per a report by DerbyshireLive: “Caught the eye with some of his long-range passing and defensively it was a strong performance. Was desperately unlucky with Burnley’s winner. Showed why John Eustace has signed him on more than one occasion.”

John Eustace told the official club website: “We’re growing into the season and we’re getting better, but we’ve lost the game from just a lack of concentration at the end. The two goals that we conceded can be stopped. We knew we’d always have opportunities on the turnover.”

What now for Derby County?
Derby County should take confidence from their performance against Burnley. DCFC will be looking to bounce back with a win in the Championship this weekend.
The Rams are back in league action with a tricky away trip to Portman Road to play Ipswich Town. Their upcoming opponents were relegated from the top flight last term after finishing in the bottom three along with Southampton and Leicester City.
Eustace’s men have one point on the board from their first three fixtures. They lost their first two outings against Stoke City and Coventry City before drawing 1-1 with Bristol City.
