Nottingham Forest offer ‘imminent’ – Agreement with club looks close

On Tuesday, journalist Gianluca Di Marzio reported that Nottingham Forest offered €11m for Nicolò Savona. Juventus have turned it down and have requested €18m to part ways with him this summer.

The Premier League club are in the market for a new right-back and Tuttosport gives some insight into how Savona became their priority target.

Nottingham Forest director Edu Gaspar focused on Atlético Madrid’s Nahuel Molina. The report explains the Reds made a €25m bid, but it was rejected by the La Liga club.

Therefore, they have turned their attention towards Savona and have already knocked on Juventus’ door.

Nuno Espírito Santo’s side signed Douglas Luiz from the Old Lady earlier this month, so there’s lines of communication open.

Gazzetta dello Sport also cover Nottingham Forest’s pursuit of the Juventus right-back. They report their initial offer was just over €10m and it was rejected by the Turin club, who value the fullback at around €20m [Di Marzio reported €18m].

They report Nottingham Forest’s improved bid seems ‘imminent’. Gazzetta don’t quote the figure but state the Reds could find an agreement with Juventus for a ‘few millions less, perhaps with the now inevitable percentage on the resale price’.

The 22-year-old wants to continue with the Italian club, but the newspaper claims it’s not a bad idea for him to move to England. This allows him to play in the Europa League and improve his salary.

Gazzetta say Nottingham Forest’s improved offer can provide Juventus general manager Damien Comolli with resources needed to carry out signings.

With the two clubs in general favour of Savona’s transfer, Nottingham Forest have a good chance of securing his services. They will have to first raise their offer.
